Honorable P. Mike Jurry is the current Representative of District # 1 Harper City, He got into the political arena representing his people after his massive win in the 2017 General and Presidential Elections. He has created a clean fortress for himself and is not prepared to bury his head in sand in championing cause of her people.
Representative Jurry remains a towering and unwavering voice for the people of Harper City, Maryland County. His political Strength is as strong as the force of an elephant. Since Representative Jurry was placed into the theater of politics in Harper City, Maryland County, his strong sense and farsightedness of finding solutions and not using rhetoric has made him a distinguished and well-respected statesman. He comes from the first column of non-traditional politicians who do not inject lies into politics unlike the traditional politicians who promise to build bridge when there is no river. Representative Jurry feels the pains of the ordinary and always finds strong remedies to complex situations. He sees coordination and collaboration as hallmarks to achieving societal good. Before entering in politics, this goal-oriented lawmaker plied his trade in the humanitarian sector of Maryland County for almost two decades. His thoughts are good and his understanding of the current politics in Maryland County is huge. Honorable Jurry has contributed immensely to the humanitarian sector leading programs, activities aids and developmental projects that have bettered the lives of Marylanders, particularly Harper City. He represents the most enlightened and intelligent segment of Maryland County. Harper City hosts the Tubman University which has bred consciousness in the Southeastern Region.

Liberians who are thirsty for education are now drinking from the fountain of Tubman University. There is an inseparable tie between Representative Jurry and Tubman University. He is a proud graduate of that University. Honorable Jurry has put no sleep to eyes in ensuring that the needed technical and logistical supports are provided aimed at improving, enhancing and smoothing the learning climate at the Tubman University. He has advocated for increased budgetary support and has been working with his colleagues in a bid to champion the cause of the Tubman University. He has provided scholarship opportunities and has sponsored educational exchange programs for residents and students of the Tubman University. Through these initiatives, residents and students have benefitted from technical agricultural skills that have been utilized. Representative Jurry has fostered and pioneered career programs for students particular those from the Business and Public Administration Department of the University. He has led serious and fruitful efforts in reconciling the people of Harper District.

Honorable Jurry sponsored and provided an E-library educational platform for students and faculty the opportunities to access modern books. The platform seeks to ease the difficulties students undergo in their academic work. He serves as co-chair on the House’s Committee on Education. He is a graduate of the Tubman University when it was first named Tubman College. He obtained an Associate of Arts Degree in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the Tubman University and is a candidate of a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with emphasis in Public Sector Management from the Cuttington University.
He is a politician, a seasoned Administrator, a Public Sector and Educational Specialist, a Humanitarian and a Diplomat.
